In family, Life, parenthood, work life balance

As a parent, I’ve struggled with the child care challenges for a few years now. I’m a dad who wants to be involved in creating a strong, confident, intelligent woman that brings value and empathy to the global community. For me, it’s about empowerment. I think it’s about empowerment and accountability for all of us actually.

So naturally I was fired up after reading this article about on-site child care by a company I have followed for some time now: Patagonia. I really admire what Yvon and Malinda have done with their company, both from a child care perspective, and from a global accountability perspective.

This article by #JennyAnderson is really spot-on…this a a really well-written article about #workplacechildcare, and #keepingtalent.

This is what work-life balance looks like at a company with 100% retention of moms

The creative ways that the cost is offset for Patagonia, create a value in the children, that I’m sure, will pay many, many dividends into our future. It’s just this kind of active commitment to our children that we need now, more than ever, if we stand a chance of preserving a world worth living in for future generations.
